2012 Nisswa Freedom Day Celebration and Parade

The Nisswa Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to join us July 3rd for our annual
Nisswa Freedom Days Celebration!

Monday - July 2

5:00 pm                    Entertainment begins at Grand View Lodge
After dusk                 FIREWORKS SHOW at Grand View Lodge

Tuesday - July 3

11:00 am                  Registration for the Turtle Races
11:00 am - 5:00 pm   Stage Coach Rides Around Town
11:00 am                  Eats and Treats
11:00 am                  Face painting at the Turtle Track
11:30 am                  Storytelling at Turtle Town Bookstore and Gifts
12:00 pm                  Let the Turtle Races begin!
1:00 pm - 6:00 pm    Bounce House
2:00 pm                    Chalk Drawing Contest Registration at the Gazebo (Start as soon as turtle races are over!  Bring your own chalk)
2:00 pm                    Pictures with the turtle
2:00 pm                    Watermelon Feed in the Nisswa Square
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm    Alpheus Ward Project in the Nisswa Square
2:00 pm                    Photos with "Smiley the Turtle" in the Gazebo
3:00 pm                    Storytelling in the Gazebo
3:00 pm - 6:00 pm    Facepainting in the Nisswa Square
3:00 pm - 6:30 pm    Kid's Korner (coloring contest, arts and crafts, watermelon seed spitting contest, turtle bean bag toss)
4:00 pm                    Pancake Eating Contest at Stonehouse
4:00 pm                    Music Stage featuring Whiskey Tango at the Pickle
4:00 pm to 6:00 pm    Colton Sturm Autograph Signing
4:30 pm                    Storytelling at Turtle Town Bookstore and Gifts
5:00 pm                    Chalk Drawing Winner Announced
5:30 pm                    Kiddie Parade (start at the Turtle Track and parade the town to the Nisswa Square
7:00 pm                     THE EVER-FAMOUS NISSWA PARADE!!!
8:30 pm                    BIG Cash Give-a-Way Drawing at the Gazebo
After Parade                Street Dance featuring Whiskey Tango in the Pickle parking lot

Wednesday - July 4

1:00 pm                   Nisswa Turtle Race Registration
2:00 pm                   Let the Nisswa Turtle Races begin!
