Lakes Area Music Festival Announces Prelude Series
The Lakes Area Music kicks off a packed fourth season with its annual Prelude Series. Classical music concerts will be presented in six communities around the greater Brainerd Lakes Area beginning July 14. Audience favorites from past Festival seasons will take the stage, performing a varied program of instrumental and vocal repertoire, including works by Bach, Mozart, Brahms, and Argentinean tango composer Astor Piazzolla.

The Prelude Series concerts lead up to the official start of the 2012 Festival season July 29 – August 19, highlights of which include: educational programs for audiences of all ages; the first opera production, Mozart’s Magic Flute; performances featuring quartets to full orchestra; and an assortment of social events with the opportunity to meet Festival musicians.
The Lakes Area Music Festival was established in 2009, and will present seven free of charge concerts this year at Tornstrom Auditorium, featuring members of the Minnesota and St. Paul Chamber Orchestras, students from top music conservatories around the country and talented local musicians.
