Brainerd Jaycee's Street Fest on Seventh
Date: August 28, 2010
Event Description
Formerly known as the Great Northern BBQ, Street Fest on Seventh Saturday, August 28 will go from noon to midnight at 7th and Laurel Streets in Downtown Brainerd with activities for all ages. The daytime festivities will include many FREE events for the whole family, including arts, crafts, food vendors, family activities and live music.
The soundtrack to this event will start at noon with live eating contests, cooking demonstrations, and vendors. Live music starts in the afternoon and goes until midnight with headliner band Arch Allies. Arch Allies is a tribute band with 3 sets; Journey, Styx and REO Speedwagon. You can’t miss this!
And after you’ve worked up an appetite, stick around for the Cub Foods Rib Fest from 7 p.m. until gone.
Cost is $15 for All You Can Judge ribs, and two beverage tickets. Local backyard barbeque teams will be competing with awards given in the evening. But don’t think this is the only time you can eat good ribs. Local pro Mike Jay will be giving cooking classes so you can learn to make your own tasty barbeque.
A portion of the proceeds from the Street Fest will be donated to Kinship Partners.
