The Crisis Line and Referral Service are celebrating twenty three years of service. It is a confidential, and non-judgmental 24/7 crisis line for people who need a listening ear, information, referral resources, and crisis mental health service intervention. We provide service for six counties, Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd and Wadena. Children, teens, young adults, middle-aged adults, and the elderly all have used our service. Issues they face indlue teen-age pregnancy, suicide, depression, financial assistance, and respite care for a spouse who has Alzheimer. The Crisis Line has taken approximately 80,000 calls since it began July 1, 1988.
It is important to not that the Crisis Line and Referral Service is the only 24/7, 365 day-a-year, confidential and anonymous crisis line servicing Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties. All ages in these rural areas call the Crisis Line, because they have no other place to go for help. The call 828-HELP or 1-800-462-5525, because they truly do not know where to go for help, or in many cases, that help exists, at all.
