We are excited to announce that we will be holding a live performance of Requiem\, Op. 48 by Gabriel Faure. Join us for this FREE event. (Free will donations accepted at the door and/or on our website at https://legacychorale.org/contribute/) Date: Sunday November 21\, 2021 Time: 7:00pm Location: Gichi-Ziibi Center for the Arts\, 602 S 5th St Brainerd\, MN 56401 Gabriel Faur composed his Requiem in D minor\, Op. 48\, between 1887 and 1890. The choral-orchestral setting of the shortened Catholic Mass for the Dead in Latin is the best-known of his large works. Its focus is on eternal rest and consolation. He composed the work in the late 1880s and revised it in the 1890s\, finishing it in 1900. In seven movements\, the work is scored for soprano and baritone soloists\, mixed choir and piano accompaniment. This performance takes about 35 minutes This concert is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Five Wings Arts Council\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
