Rewind Operator

Day Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am-2pm
Night Shift Mon-Thurs 2pm-midnight

Responsible for the operation of a rewind machine which is a piece of finishing equipment in the label printing plant. This position gets finished product labels ready to go to the customer by working them into the property rolls, inspecting for quality, and setting up for shipment.

Responsibilities Include:
Set up & operate label inspector machines to include visual qualiry control while insuring conformance to client quality specifications.
Ability to read job ticket carefully before running machine to ensure it is set up to customer and label needs.
Input job order information into the computer; set specifications on the machine (measurement accuracy and attention to detail required)
Inspect and remove all defects, properly resplice the roll, stamp each role
Lift finished material into the machine
View labels with assistance of strobe light
Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and Viking Label including but not limited to handling procedues, paperwork requirements, etc.  Compliance with all data integrity, product safety, and ISO standards required.
Ensure quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print and quantity of packaged items being shipped.
Responsible for cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace; light maintenance of machinery may also be required.
Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping and packaging of converting jobs
Follows all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures and guidelines. Reports all safety concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor.
